Did you order a new piece of medical equipment for your practice and you want to have a delivery company drop it off for you? Finding a delivery company shouldn't be difficult, and you'll want to call around to get prices for the work you need done.
Find a delivery company that is insured to move the machine, make sure their insurance policy has enough coverage to cover the cost and value of the machine. Before the delivery company is scheduled to bring the unit there are some things you'll want to complete.
Clean Out the Space
Clean out the entire room where the machine was since you have space to move around. Wash the walls, scrub the floors and have the floors shined or cleaned, depending if they are tile or carpeting. You don't know when you won't have to clean around the machine again, and it's the perfect opportunity to make sure that everything is neat in the space.
Paint
Are there scuffs or marks on the walls from the old machine, or are the walls looking dirty? Painting the room before you have the unit brought it allows you to make the room look modern and clean, which will match the new medical machine that you've purchased. Painting the ceiling a bright white can lighten up the space and new paint on the walls is easy to do when the room is empty.
Notify Your Business Insurance Provider
Let your insurance provider know that you made the investment of some new medical equipment before it arrives, so that the machine is covered if anything happens. If something happened and there was damage to the machine because of flooding, a fire, an electrical complication in the building or something else, you would be stuck paying for the repairs or replacement on your own if the machine wasn't covered.
Ask the delivery company if there is anything special they would like or need you to do before they drop off the new machine. They may require that the doors be taken off the doorway into the area where the new machine will go if it's going to cause difficulty getting the machine in, and they may have other requests as well. Getting a new piece of equipment in your office space is a great way to improve the services you offer; just make sure you prepare properly for the delivery.
